One of the most important, if not the most important, reasons why the 2019 US world cup team lost so badly, is that they lacked heavyweight centers and sucked at rebounding. They also were not familiar with international rules and couldn't take full advantage of the omission of the 3 sec rule, and the looser foul rules, thus making it even worse. Turner was OK, but he alone was not enough. Lopez sucked at rebounding, and Plumlee was little used. If Andre Drummond had not left the team, they would have fared better, IMO. So for the 2020 Olympic team, I hope they have learned from their mistake and pick Drummond, A Davis, and Jordan to fortify their front court. ... |
